Mummies

In Halloween on January 27, 2010 at am

These mummies are cocktail sausages wrapped in Pillsbury crescent dough.  As you can imagine, they taste really good.  My guests went through several trays of these  🙂

Mummies Recipe

adapted from Pillsbury

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dough

1 lb package (about 44) cocktail smoked sausages

your choice of dipping sauce (ie. hot sauce, barbecue sauce, honey mustard)

Preheat oven to 375°F.  Line a half-sheet pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking sheet. Roll dough sheet out to 14×11 inches.  Cut into short thin strips.  Pat sausages dry with paper towels.  Wrap 1 strip of dough around each sausage so that it looks like a little mummy. press the ends of the dough together firmly at the ends to secure. Place wrapped sausages 2″ apart on baking sheet to promote even browning.  Bake for 10-20 minutes or until light brown.  Make sure that the dough is slightly crunchy but not dry.
